New boards

new boards

I’ve just taken delivery of these plywood boards which I’m quite excited about. They’re thicker than I normally use and have been cut with angled edges. They sit flush on the wall when hung and the angle means that the work appears to float away from the wall a little. I’m planning to work on small pieces in series. I’ve got the first set planned out, in my head at least, so watch this space…

‘astir’ – acrylic on paper on board, 42 x 14in. The title has come from the idea of first light at dawn, a sense of awakening. The light areas of this piece are quite subtle and that darker base lends itself to an horizon, but that’s just my take…
