towards Venezuela

Looking south west out to sea from the South Wales coastline, the first land you come to, apart from the odd island, is on the South American continent. Apparently. I always believe what the locals tell me.

hard border

I shot about a dozen of these pics when the migrant crisis was at its height, taken by the symbolism of the same species of plant existing either side of the wire fence. I didn’t so anything with them at the time but was reminded of them with the recent talk surrounding the post-Brexit Northern Ireland border.

Looking south west from Lansdowne over Worcester city to the Malvern Hills at dawn. A while ago. I don’t get up that early for anybody these days.

emulsion remains

I had the blue polaroid in a set of four previously but it got discarded when I made a triptych out of the other three. It was sat all lonely in a pile of rejects until today when, as fate would have it, I had two shots left in a colour film pack and so voilà! it is amongst friends once again.

180 willows

Taken on an iPhone and printed on Impossible instant lab with expired film. All the images are upside down, the trees are reflections and the ‘leaves’ are in fact plants growing in the flooded field at the base of the trunks.⠀
