A collaboration with Philadelphia based artist Stella Untalan who makes drawings focused on measurement and probing. Her work is driven by process and materials, each series of marks is made by filling a tool then making marks until the liquid is gone.
Stella and I had a zine and artwork exchange a while back. The piece of work she sent me sits in my hallway and I see it numerous times each day. It was the inspiration for our collaboration – I have interpreted her design through generative coding to produce a number of works where the lines and colour vary randomly. Stella has editing down the output to eight variations and the original is shown alongside them.
Giclée digital prints are available on archival art paper stock. Open edition.
